Dina de Croock, Business Controller EMEA

"You are given responsibility to work independently. If you are proactive yourself, you can achieve many things, you can continue to grow and that is something that certainly appeals to me at Agrifirm."

What is your job at Agrifirm?

I work as Business Controller EMEA at Agrifirm. Within the EMEA Specialties region I am responsible for preparing management reports in which I report and analyze the results and provide the necessary explanations. I also support the business by translating operational activities into financial results.

  • Can you tell us something about the team you work in?

As a business controller, I work closely with BU management, accounting and sales; there are several internal stakeholders to consider.

What gives you energy in your work?

When you see action being taken based on your analysis, that gives me energy. You can really impact the business by analyzing the right numbers. In addition, as a business controller you have a total view of everything that is happening within the BU, and being able to present the overall picture to higher management also gives me energy.

What is unique about working at Agrifirm?

You are given responsibility to work independently. If you are proactive yourself, you can achieve many things, you can continue to grow and that is something that certainly appeals to me at Agrifirm. I also work for the agricultural sector, a very nice and important sector in the Netherlands and Belgium where you can really have an impact on society.

What are you proud of?

I am proud that after 2 years of working at Agrifirm I have already learned a lot about the sector. My knowledge about the agricultural sector has really grown. I also have a supporting role and I am proud that people come to me. That I can help them, that they ask my opinion and that my opinion matters. I am proud that I have already achieved this at Agrifirm.

What career move did you make at Agrifirm?

After 2 years within innovation, I was able to take the step to Business Controller, a different branch of sport within finance. Agrifirm has coached me and looked together with me at where my capabilities can best be put to use in the organization on the one hand, and where I want to go with my career on the other.

This year (2025) I am also following the Future Gen Program, where I am working with other young potentials on my leadership skills and working out a strategic business case for Agrifirm's global leadership. I am pleased that Agrifirm is investing in the potential of its employees and that I am part of this. The FGP training contributes not only to my professional skills, but especially to my personal development.
