What is your job at Agrifirm?

I work as an Innovation Analyst at Agrifirm. Every day I work on a responsible food chain for future generations by assessing business opportunities, scouting and contacting promising start-ups, drawing up business cases, mapping the costs of open innovation and maintaining contact with the food- and agtech ecosystem through our partners.

  • Can you tell us something about the team you work in?

    I work in a very diverse team. Where I work together with real technology scouts with a lot of technical background. And also with people with more experience in business development and market knowledge. I am actually the person with knowledge of the figures. We complement each other nicely.

What gives you energy in your work?

It gives me energy to work on innovation every day. Because through innovation we ensure that the farmer has a more sustainable revenue model for the future. And therefore, they can also practice agriculture in a more sustainable way.

What is unique about working at Agrifirm?

You are given responsibility to work independently. If you are proactive yourself, you can achieve many things, you can continue to grow and that is something that certainly appeals to me at Agrifirm. I also work for the agricultural sector, a very nice and important sector in the Netherlands and Belgium where you can really have an impact on society.

What are you proud of?

I am proud that after 1.5 years of working at Agrifirm I have already learned a lot about the sector. My knowledge about the agricultural sector has really grown. I also have a supporting role and I am proud that people come to me. That I can help them, that they ask my opinion and that my opinion matters. I am proud that I have already achieved this at Agrifirm.

Wat is uniek aan het werken bij Agrifirm?  

Je bent onderdeel van een coöperatie en die bedrijfscultuur voel je in alles. Hoe we met elkaar omgaan, maar ook dat we altijd werken vanuit het perspectief van onze leden. Agrifirm vertegenwoordigt alle sectoren van bollen tot pluimvee. Dus er zijn veel mogelijkheden te ontdekken welke agrarische sector het beste bij jou past.  Mijn hart gaat sneller kloppen van akkerbouw, maar als ik mij wil ontwikkelen in de varkenshouderij is dit ook mogelijk. Dat is toch wel uniek.
