Jeroen de Veer, Product Marketing Manager Poultry Europe

"We are doing everything for a resilient poultry industry with future prospects."

What do you do at Agrifirm?

I am Product Marketing Manager Poultry Europe. Besides my role in the management team Poultry, I am ultimately responsible for the development and marketing of our products and services in the poultry sector. Thereby I have a directing role between different departments, to translate market needs into concrete application. Examples include the management of our assortments and (digital) tools, pricing strategies, input for the research agenda and communication plans. Recently I have started in a coordinating role in this for the European countries where we are active in Poultry.

  • What career moves have you already made at Agrifirm?

I started at Agrifirm with a graduate course in dairy cattle. After that, I became a Nutritionist in Meat Poultry. After four years at Nutrition, I advanced to the position of Product Manager Meat Poultry and became a member of the Poultry Management Team. Last year (2022) I also became responsible for Laying Poultry, i.e. all of Poultry Netherlands.
Recently, I moved up to Product Marketing Manager Poultry Europe, so a coordinating role across the European countries where we operate in Poultry.

What trainings or programs have you attended within the Agrifirm Academy?

Since I have been working at Agrifirm, I have taken a number of sales training courses from Yearth, Mercuri and Kenneth Smith. In my case, these trainings were mainly focused on how to get different stakeholders involved within the company. In 2022/2023 I attended the talent program 'Future Generation Program'. I got to know myself well and learned how to develop leadership in an authentic way. I am currently following the Agrifirm STAR Leadership Program, with the Covey characteristics for effective leadership.

From your position/with your team, how do you contribute to a responsible food chain for future generations?

Agrifirm's global goals are central to everything we do: we work on healthy animals and sustainable incomes every day. In addition, we are very actively working on making our feeds more circular and reducing the footprint. In order to increase our customers' earning models and make their business future-proof as well.
