What do you do at Agrifirm?

I am a Business Controller in the finance department. That means I am the financial business partner of Bonda, Exlan, R&D and overhead functions. As Business Controller I take care of the planning & control cycle. How was the performance of the department/subsidiary, but also what is the expectation of where things are going? As Business Controller you are also the business partner to the management team.

  • What energizes you in your work?

    If we can take the organization a step forward, make it more professional and mature. A good example, for example, is the switch in Meat Poultry to the Beter Leven mark. Supermarket Albert Heijn started that a little bit, then the other supermarkets joined in. We then looked at, for example, what does that mean for us, for our members? Where are our opportunities and how do we approach that?

Wat is unique about working at Agrifirm?  

That we are a cooperative. Our work is very relevant because we are in the middle of the food transition. We also support our customers with a broad spectrum of products/services; from seeds, farm supplies, animal feed to consulting.

What trainings or programs have you attended within the Agrifirm Academy?

The STAR workshop in which you will learn what cultural values we strive for. In addition, an Insights workshop where you gain insight into your personal profile. And at the end of 2022 I took the Leadership Change module by Covey. A training course is always a great opportunity to gain insight into how you do things and who you are. Agrifirm has a nice broad offering. Especially for the sales advisors, we have a lot of training available, even laid out in learning paths.

What are you proud of?

Agrifirm is not running away from the challenges at hand. We need more food, but we must be kind to the planet. We actively seek solutions and want to be a partner in this discussion. Because we are a cooperative, we also want to do this particularly to continue to offer our members perspective. What is also very nice to experience is the passion that many colleagues have for this sector. That is very inspiring and contagious.
