The challenge

Within Agrifirm, our specialty business focuses on providing nutritional concepts, additive solutions, and early feed for multiple species to our valued Business-to-Business customers. As we continue to expand our operations, we are currently seeking a Sales Manager EUROPE to join our EMEA division. This role will primarily focus on managing the sales team in Europe (6 direct reports now, but more in the future), but as well be a solid key account manager.

 
Your responsibilities

As Senior Manager for the Sales Team Europe, you will work closely with the EMEA BU Director and the Global Strategic Portfolio Director to design and execute a sales growth strategy for Europe. This involves supporting and expanding into new countries to drive substantial growth by setting objectives, allocating resources, and defining market positioning, including identifying client and market opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Development: Drive the maturity of Benelux market sectors by focusing on targeted clients and tailored services to strengthen market positioning.
  • Key Account Business/Development: Identify, develop, and manage relationships with key accounts. Focus on creating tailored strategies to drive client engagement, retention, and revenue growth. Collaborate across functions to deliver customized solutions that meet the evolving needs of high-value clients.
  • Objective Setting and Performance Tracking: Cascade key objectives, performance targets, and KPIs to team and functional levels, ensuring regular reporting, assessment, and adjustments as necessary.
  • Commercial Process Optimization: Develop and implement efficient, effective, and compliant commercial processes and procedures. Ensure alignment with other business areas to streamline delivery and operations.
  • Leadership and Team Development: Provide strong leadership by motivating and developing managers and team members. Focus on achieving high engagement, performance, productivity, and quality of work. Mentor both current and new team members to support the growth and expansion of EMEA markets.
  • Training Implementation: Establish and execute a comprehensive training plan to ensure the sales team meets business expectations and performance standards.
  • Customer Satisfaction and Retention: Work closely with the Marketing team to monitor customer satisfaction levels and collaborate on strategies to ensure high customer retention.
  • Strategic Alignment: Create a departmental action plan and objectives that align with the Group’s business strategy. Ensure these are clearly communicated, regularly reviewed, and adjusted when needed.
  • Comprehensive Reporting: Regularly report on growth plans, performance, client opportunities, product development, portfolio progression, and business improvement initiatives, addressing any risks or opportunities that arise.

 

People

  • Promote a positive workplace culture and strong ethical practice through leading by example and influencing the right staff behaviors;
  • Ensure an effective flow of communication and information within the department and to other departments;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with other departments across the Group;
  • Responsible to implement a training plan that will allow the sales team to perform in line of the business expectation.
     

Financial
Provide regular department financial forecasts for revenue and monitor sales orders;

  • Monitor market position verses plan / financial objectives and targets.
     

Our sales teams are supported by the Sales Desk, Technical Department, and Marketing. The Sales Desk focuses on order coordination within the system, ensuring timely and accurate delivery, supporting KAMs, and managing a dedicated set of assigned customers. Our Technical team provides product, formulation, and service support for customers upon KAM request. The Marketing team handles a broad range of activities—including events, trade fairs, branding, presentations, and articles—all designed to enhance sales efforts and serve our customers effectively.

 

What’s on your cv?

  • Degree qualified or equivalent with 10+ years industry experience
  • You have a broad and professional network in the feed industry;
  • Client facing experience with negotiation skills on all technical and commercial elements.
  • Extensive experience leading teams, managing resources and developing people
  • Strategic business planning, setting objectives and KPIs and budget management
  • You are fluent in English and Dutch/Flemish; proficiency in French is a plus;
  • You have experience with working in an international context and matrix organization.
